Onelight started his career as a DJ when he was 18. After playing alongside artists like Jimmy Edgar, SOPHIE, Machinedrum, Kaytranada, Hudson Mohwake, Rustie, Justin Martin and Para One, he decided to make his first step into music production in 2016 with the EP TUGGSPEEDMAN, released on French label Musique Large. This first EP garnered support from Busy P, Gilb’R, Machinedrum and Teki Latex.
While working in the Fashion Industry for brands like Wood Wood and Comme Des Garçons, he decided to focus all his energy on music after a serious health issue in 2016. Gathering the money left from his barmitzvah, he released his second EP SILVER, including a major collaboration with Californian legend Egyptian Lover. Following Onelight’s idea of creating a sound that fuses his influences from 80’s funk to electronica and polished modern RnB, he is set to release his first LP named VANDERLAY.
Vanderlay serves to manifest the same feeling as his DJ sets, which range from 90 BPM to 160 BPM and mixes the best sounds from funk, RnB, hip hop and techno. As a true connoisseur, he sought out some of his favorite vocalists, including Dutch crooner Benny Sings, new rising RnB star Alexandria and freaky MC Rome Fortune from Atlanta.
Onelight unleashes Vanderlay with the simultaneous desire to soothe his soul and unite all listeners, as he believes that music is the panacea and the reason for existence.
